VISIT TO
NEW DELHI – NORTHERN INDIA – May 2014
Many of you
are aware of my previous visit to India, to a man who I sadly fund out was
stealing big sums of money from many people through various sites like Face
Book and email. I believe now that the
Lord sent me there to expose this man – Sonu Singh, and I have been able to
inform more than one thousand people to stay away from him. I gave Sonu Singh the opportunity to return
the said funds and to stand down from ministry – he refused! I therefore left him in the hands of the
Lord.
Whilst in
India I got to know another pastor called Trilok Singh (no relation to Sonu
Singh, the name Singh is like Smith in the Western World). Pastor Trilok (42) has a ministry in Ghaziabad, Utter Pradesh near New Delhi one of the most polluted cities in the world. Pastor Trilok is a man whom I believe to
be honest and reliable, and having built up a relationship with him over one
year I felt led to visit his ministry.
What I saw brought me to tears on a number of occasions. Trilok is
married to Anita Singh and has four children; Mahima (15), Deepika (15),
Cinderella (12), and Aaron (10). They
live in a very small house in the suburb near New Delhi, called Ghaziabad and
this is where I was made very welcome after a long trip from Germany. I was also to meet my official interpreter
also by the name of Marina, and I am very grateful that she gave a week of her
time to interpret. Pastor Trilok speaks
about 70% English and is learning very quickly!
The first day was getting to know the family and then a meeting of the
elders in the evening.

Pastor Trilok
and family are working among the “untouchables” in the slums of New Delhi where
I saw young children, many without shoes, playing near the sewers and the trash
heaps. Some of them were looking for
thrown away food, whilst others were searching for anything they could sell to
earn a few Rupees. This is hell on
earth! Here, Pastor Trilok, Anita and
his children worked for months to lay the foundations for a church building to
the glory of God. The walls were fitted
with corrugated metal and then covered right the way around by a form of
sacking cloth to keep the heat out from the very hot sun where temperatures
would be over 40 degrees centigrade.
The roof was covered with banana leaves. Some radical Hindu people were not happy
with this church and informed the police, and soon they came and knocked down
this “illegally built church.” Most
people would have given in by now, but not Pastor Trilok! With a little help from a police officer and
a big help from God, they rebuilt the
church once more – alone! Sadly, a
recent heavy rainfall destroyed the roof, but already the church has raised a
third of the funds needed to complete the roof! – This is what I love to see –
his own people getting involved. $300 is
still needed to finish the roof.

(Children from the slums)
This
building is not only used as a church, where they hold 2 services a week (and
believe me, they were Spirit-filled services!), but also as an official school
for the children living on the slums which some of them are orphans. My first tears were shed when I visited then
one morning and they gave me a laurel of flowers to hang around my neck. Their faces and shone as bright as the midday
sun as they then broke out into a chorus of English Christian songs. It is due to Pastor Trilok and Anita that
these children are being given the chance of a normal education and also
receiving the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

On two days
I preached a message on the Kingdom of God to these wonderful people and we saw
healings and miracles. It was wonderful
to see people come forward on the Sunday giving their testimonies of the
miracle they received from the Friday evening service I preached at. I had a really great interpreter – a big man
by the name of Pastor Jerry, who never seemed to stop speaking in tongues. Pastor Jerry is working alongside Pastor
Trilok and is a very big help to the ministry.
When I first met him he gave me one big bear hug and I am sure I heard a
rib break!

Pastor
Trilok’s wife Anita and her mother Nirmila run a women’s ministry where they have
won many women to the Lord. They too
have meeting in the church, but also visit many suburbs of New Delhi and
surrounding villages. My head spins when
I think how they have surrendered their lives completely to the Lord. There will be a wonderful crown awaiting them
all in heaven.
(The Women's Ministry)
But their
ministry doesn’t finish there! On
another day they took me to the village of Manouli Muradnagar which was about
forty-five minute drive. We drove in a
rickety micro bus – the air conditioning was holes in the floor! This was the
village where Pastor Trilok grew up and from a young age received Christ as his
Lord and Savior, and he was soon to see his whole family saved. Whilst at this young age God spoke to him
that he would soon be a pastor, and that burned in his heart from then on. To make money he would sell coconuts on the
roadside. Soon I was
taken to a large building belonging to a good friend of his and who had loaned
this building to start yet another school where the children are taught a
secular education and taught about the love of Jesus Christ. This building also serves as a church. It is not the ideal building, especially as
the number of children is growing; some which come from far away, and even
orphans. Here, once again my tissue came
out as the children sang, danced and put on a play for me. Later I handed out friendship bands from
Guatemala. I am forever amazed what
this couple has achieved and wants to achieve.
I asked him why he done all this and he replied that it was his calling
from God. Later they showed me around
the building and I was taken upstairs where there was an office with an empty
chair and desk, but what I saw next blew me away! There on the wall was a large framed picture of me
with the title “Director”. I am very
humbled to receive this honor.

Pastor
Trilok told me about his next project and that was to build a proper school
building with 8 classrooms and also an office, plus a large room for activities
and a church, and children’s home! They have been given a free 20 year lease on
a large piece of land in the village, and this is where the new project will
take place. This vision is big, and the
estimate is about $60,000 but then again God is big and I am sure the Lord will
speak to the right people to invest in this project. Eight teachers will be needed and to be paid
$100 a month for two years, then they believe they will be
self-supporting. Pastor Trilok and his
team of elders have begun to pray that god will speak into the lives of people
to help fulfill this vision that God has given them for this school and
children’s home.

(The slums)
Why have I
gone all the way to India? Firstly God
has called me there to help this man and his family who have given their lives
to serve God fully and to bring education and the word of God to the
“untouchable” children in the slums.
Believe me they were not untouchable to me! I hugged many of them.
(Jesus has not forgotten them, neither have I)
Secondly I have gone back to my roots, as my
parents lived in India during the time of the British Empire; my father was in
the Indian Police Force and spoke both Hindi and Urdu fluently.
I cannot
leave out the beautiful Hindu family that put me up in their house for one
week. They must have heard that I like
big cups of tea because every morning I would get receive one. Two houses down was Anita’s mother who also
brought me a tea and breakfast. Was I
being spoilt! Their two children were
fascinating. Naman (17), has written three books, the first when he was 15
years old and has sold thousands of copies, and his sister Nikita (16) both
spent as much time as possible talking with me when I returned to my room in
the evening. I always left them with a
question to answer, the first being what is truth? They were fascinated as I shared from the
Bible and they too shared about their religion.

Some people
have given me some good advice and also some warnings that I might once again
be disappointed as time moves along, and I appreciate that advice, but I know
this is a call of God to stand alongside Pastor Trilok, Pastor Jerry, their
family and his elders. Ihave listened to their advice and will keep it in my heart. The difference I
see here is that these people understand that I am not the big white man from
the West loaded with money, but they are working hard together and raising
funds themselves for some of their projects.
The school and home is a big one, but I am sure God knows the right
people to speak to. I am hoping to visit
again in November this year. There is
much I have left out of this blog, but I will include this in my book I am
writing which is almost finished. Please keep this pastor and team in prayer and
also Christa and myself as we step into new territory.

If you wish to help us and Pastor Trilok and his team build this school and children's home, then please contact me for more information of the address of his bank details. I am on JeffMilsl@pobox.com. God bless you all and I hope this has touched your hearts.
(These are all God's creation. Will you help?)
Your in Jesus Christ,
Jeff Mills
